NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme

The NICEIC approved contractor scheme was developed for electrical contractors who design, install and maintain electrical installations to BS 7671. The construction industry is constantly changing, therefore it is crucial that we keep up to date with the regulations set by the NICEIC. We are regularly inspected as part of the scheme to ensure we are carrying out work that is of the highest standards. Working in accordance with the NICEIC enables us to issue certificates for all the work we complete.

Electrical Inspections

Thorough electrical inspections are carried out on all of the properties we work on. This includes a 3 part process, starting with an initial visual inspection, followed by a test of the circuits to confirm they are safe to use. Lastly, a certificate is issued which highlights any detected faults that need to be corrected or replaced. All new installations installed by Lyes Electrical come with electrical installation certificates which are immediately communicated to building control.

Thermographic surveys

It is not uncommon for businesses to overload electrical installations which can lead to overheating and potentially cause a fire. Therefore, here at Lyes Eectrical, we have invested in the latest thermographic equipment to identify any hazards. These are then reported back to the customer in photographic form, which is an effective way to reassure them that their electrical installation is operating safely.

Fault Finding

We all know of a DIY fanatic that will have a go at installing electrical goods, despite not being qualified. Whilst we admire the enthusiasm, these are the type of installations that tend to experience problems later down the line, therefore a key part of our daily workload is fault finding. We identify faults in poorly assembled electric installations and ensure that they are safe and fully functioning so no problems arise in the future.

Commercial Alarms and Security

Each of the fire alarms we install for commercial customers are tailored to the building and how the building is utilised. For example, the fire alarms in a school building may differ from a small office. They are regularly tested before the installation process to ensure they are working optimally and that they meet the requirements of the fire inspector. Our security alarms can be designed specifically for the commercial buildings we work on. This includes popular features such as the technology that alerts a dedicated person on activation to raise the alarm. We offer installation of door entry systems and card entry systems.
